Halong Bay Tours

Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Covering an area of over 1500 sq km it is one of Vietnams treasures. Over 3000 islands rise up from the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Tonkin, many of which are home to beautiful coral laden beaches and grottoes.

There are several options for you to choose from in the exploration of Halong Bay and Cat Ba Island National Park. Depending on your interest in the activities that are available and your time frame and budget, a Halong Bay excursion can be arranged to suit you. We have outlined several of our established Halong Bay tour programs below with details of the most popular activities to give you an idea of what is available.

Halong Bay Tour Programs

Halong Bay & Cat Ba Island Standard - 3 days / 2 nights

Day 1: You are picked up from your hotel at 8:00am and arrive at Halong Bay at 11.30am were lunch will be served at the seaview restaurant.

At 1pm we board our sailing boat and spend the afternoon exploring Halong Bay and visiting one of the spectacular caves. We then go to a quiet area of the bay were you can go swimming or just relax and take in the scenery.

Dinner is served at 6.30pm and the evening spent overnight on the bay.

Day 2: After breakfast the following day a boat will take you to Gia Luan harbour.
From there you will have a guided trek through the National Park for about 2 hours.
At the end of the trek your guide will organise a local bus to take you to your hotel in Cat Ba town. You are then served lunch in the hotel. After lunch your guide will organise a boat to take you to Monkey Island were you can swim and relax on the beach.
On this day you have the optional extra to do kayaking.

In the late afternoon we return to your Cat Ba Island hotel were dinner is served at 6.30pm. You then have the evening to walk along the promenade and have a look around the Cat Ba town.

Day 3: In the morning after breakfast at 8am, we board our boat back to Halong city via another scenic route of the bay.

Lunch is served in Halong city after which we board our bus back to Hanoi arriving at 5pm.

Huong Hai Junk

was modeled on the design of the vessels used by the 18th century dynasty of Nguyen.
The upper decks which have been created in the style of an ancient Chinese Palace are complete with circular doors and pillars.
She is a comfortable boat and a pleasure to sail in.

Huong Hai Junk - 2 days / 1 night

Day 1: You are picked up from your hotel at 8.00am and arrive at Halong Bay wharf at 11.30am were you will be met by our crew who escort you on board the Huong Hai Junk and serve welcome drinks.

You then enjoy a fresh seafood lunch after which you check into your room and we begin cruising into Halong bay. We see the eerie karsts and there different formations sailing around the many beautiful islands including Dinh Huong, Ga Choi and Dog Island.

We visit the amazing Sung Sot Cave with its incredible grotto like features and then cruise over to Titop beach for sunbathing and swimming. (Optional Kayaking)

Enjoy a great sunset dinner, and spend a relaxing evening on board the Huong Hai Junk maybe fishing and drinking Vietnamese wine.

Day2: Enjoy the beauty of a Halong Bay sunrise and a morning view of the bays landscapes with a cup of tea or coffee and fresh fruits. Breakfast is served at 7.00am.

From 7.30am we begin cruising the bay to visit Man's head Island, Tortoise Island and the Luon Cave.

Continuing on we visit Bai Tu Long Bay, Toad Island and Bai Tho Mountain.

At 11.00am we begin to head back to Halong wharf enjoying the scenic route while we are served with lunch.

We arrive back at the wharf at 12 noon for our drive back to your hotel in Hanoi arriving at 4.30pm.

Huong Hai Junk - 3 days / 2 nights

Exploring the bay by kayak we paddle to places such as the Surprise Cave and to Luon Cave, which is a natural tunnel that passes through a mountain spur and leads to an exotic lagoon surrounded by mountains covered by dense jungle.

Day 1: You are picked up from your hotel at 8.00am and arrive at Halong Bay wharf at 11.30am, were you will be met by our crew who escort you on board the Huong Hai Junk and serve welcome drinks.

You then enjoy a fresh seafood lunch after which you check into your room and we begin cruising into Halong Bay. We see the eerie karsts and there different formations sailing around the many beautiful islands including Dinh Huong, Ga Choi and Dog Island.

Day3: Rising from our sleep we enjoy our breakfast while taking in the serene surroundings of the bay. After breakfast which is served at 7.00am we begin cruising the bay to visit Bai Tu Long Bay, Teapot Island, Chopstiks Island and Bai Tho Mountain.

At 11.00am we begin to head back to Halong wharf enjoying the scenic route while we are served with lunch. We arrive back at the wharf at 12 noon for our drive back to your hotel in Hanoi arriving at 4.30pm.

Dragon Pearl First Class - 3 days / 2 nights

Day 1: You are picked up from your hotel at 8am and arrive at Halong Bay wharf at 11.30am were you will be met by our crew who escort you on board the Dragon Pearl Junk and serve welcome drinks.

We then enjoy a beautiful fresh seafood lunch after which you check into your room and we begin cruising into Halong Bay. We will see the eerie karsts with their different formations: Fighting Cock Islet, Gom Islet, Ga Islet, and Human Head Islet.

We visit the amazing caves Sung Sot Cave & Bo Nau Cave with their incredible grotto like features and Titop Island, to explore Luon Cave. There will then be lots of time left for swimming and sun bathing. Enjoy a great sunset dinner, and relax overnight on the Dragon Pearl next to Trong Cave.

Day 2: Early risers can enjoy the morning sunrise with a view of the Bay's landscapes. Sitting on the upper deck we enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear waters. The atmosphere is quiet, we can hear birds singing, cicadas chirping onshore and the gentle lapping of the waves against our boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and a gentle breeze.

Breakfast is served at 7.30am after which there are three options to choose from for the days activity.

Option 1: (Relaxing) After breakfast, you can take a smaller boat to visit the Dark & Bright Cave. Cruising on to Lan Ha Bay, through Ba Ham Lake and arriving at Ba Trai Dao Islet for swimming at the quiet beach, a barbecue lunch on the beach or boat, then cruise back through Con Chim, Dinh Gam Islet, Hang Trai Island, Con Nha and Du Cave Islet. Dinner & overnight on the Dragon Pearl.

Option 2: (Trekking in Cat Ba National Park - 3 hours) After breakfast we take a small boat to Cat Ba National Park arriving at Viet Hai fishing village were we begin our trek. Following snake trail were many unusual rocks appear rising from the ground, you will have the chance to discover the self-supplied life of the local residents. Climbing up to the peak of one of the mountains you will see panoramic views of Halong bay and Viet Hai Valley in the heart of Cat Ba National Park. Stopping for lunch in a little fishing village on the way back we arrive on board the Dragon Pearl for sunset.

Option 3: (Kayak Discovery) First you'll take a basic paddling lesson by our instructor on how to paddle safely and comfortably. We then begin our kayaking adventure exploring the area of Lan Ha Bay, passing through Tra Ngu Islet, Ba Trai Dao Islet and on to explore Ban Ham Lake (Three Tide Lagoons.) Have lunch on the beach or small boat and relax, and then a comfortable paddle back to explore Dark & Bright Cave. Here we board the small boat to cruise back to the Dragon Pearl.
Dinner & overnight on the Dragon Pearl.

Check out at 11.35am and arrive back at the wharf at 12 noon.
Drive back to your hotel in Hanoi.
